Rare close-cropped front Port side view of Pitts S-2A Special VH-PAS Cn 2043 at Archerfield (YBAF) Queensland in Feb 1976, after a demo aerobatic flight by John Patterson. The aircraft was jointly owned by John Patterson and Jim Scott. Sadly, John died when the aircraft crashed late in 1976. (The aircraft was later re-built.) VH-PAS was the Second Pitts Special imported into Australia - First Registered on 29Jun1973.

The aircraft wears Code ZZ, from Kadena AFB Japan, and she was operated by the 909th Air Refuelling Squadron – Shoguns (909th ARS). [The KC-135R was updated with more efficient CFM International CFM-56 engines, which burn up to 25% less fuel and provide greater thrust than previously fitted engines.]

Close-cropped rear Port side view of USAF Boeing C-135B Stratolifter 62-4130 MSN 18470 (with ‘United States of America’ titles and USA Flag), photographed at RAAF Fairbairn YSCB in Sep 1983. The aircraft, with a White/Blue livery, is fitted with Pratt & Whitney JT3D-3 turbo-fan engines. The aircraft was later modified to RC-135W ‘Rivet Joint’ configuration, along with Sister-Ship 62-4131. (An RAAF 34 Sqn VIP BAC-111-217EA is hidden at rear left [either A12-124 or A12-125]).
