41 Squadron has painted one of its Tornado GR4s in special markings to commemorate Gp Capt Donald 'Don' Finlay. He was officer commanding of 41 Squadron from September 1940 until August 1941. Prior to his command, he won a Bronze medal in the 110m hurdles in the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics and four years later a Silver medal in the same event during the Berlin Olympics. He also competed in the 1948 London Games, but failed to win a medal. The code letters on the tail, EB-Z, are the same as on his Spitfire P7666 in which he shot down two Me109s and shared one Me109. A fitting tribute indeed!

During the 920th Rescue Wing role demonstration at the 2011 edition of the Cocoa Beach airshow, this 308th Rescue Squadron HH-60 makes an attempt to show the public the various ways of extracting PJs from the water. Due to the high swells, rip currents and heave downdraft from the rotors, a wave breaks early, resulting in a wall of water engulfing the helicopter. The PJ never made it into the helicopter as the ‘rescue’ was called off.
