VSO7576 back to UUEE via OPKI is back tracking and lining up Runway 27 iso usnig Runway 09. Every one in ATC was shocked. The PIC choose 27 departure when the surface wind was 090 degrees upto 15kts:$ I think it was cool choice for them by using a slope of 27 to speed up heavy IL86 take off roll. Maybe they drunk too much last night? ;-) Nice choice. Hopefully see you next 2006-07 season:-)

Another nice Russian visitor is parked at bay number 8 in sunny day. She stayed 10 nights 11 days with tourist in Phuket! Now brand new remote parking bays #8 and #9 (capacity up to B747) is available for long term storage maybe especially blocked for Russian visitor? They don't need to ferry to UTP good deal ;-) BTW this ex AJT ILW looks very clean maybe repainted recently? Also slides are available ;-)

No more runway left = Must rotate! Look at where the 1000 ft marker sign and where the plane is! One heart-stopping takeoff! The front gear of the plane actually got up before the '1' marker but the body remains heavy. I think the pilots know exactly where to rotate. The Ilyushin also kicked up a large sandstorm on the beach and it was barely above it after finally airborne. IL86 is such a beast! [Nikon D2x, High speed crop mode]
