Incredible manoeuvre by the “Asas de Portugal”! The leader is flying inverted, with his wingman barrel-rolling around him. Now you will see many display teams doing something similar to this, but they all roll around 50 meters behind the leader. In this perspective you can clearly see that these guys don’t use that trick. Remarkable piece of precision flying . . . Canon 10D / 100-400 L IS, 1/350 8.0.

How do you handle 35+ charter flights when you have only 7 gate positions? Simple, you unload passengers as fast as possible, and cramp the aircraft at all available ramps as tight as possible! Eindhoven hosted the UEFA Cup Final [FC Sevilla – Middlesborough: 4-0] resulting in many additional flights, mainly from Spain. Great weather and good atmosphere permitted this nice airport overview, a sight that will not be seen again with no less than 29 aircraft visable in this photo.

Virgin America’s first Airbus A319 taxiing out for its final departure from Finkenwerder wearing N-registration. This photo shows the good photoshoot conditions around Finkenwerder, as it was taken from public road. BTW, N522VA does not have good reputation; this registration was previously applied to a Cessna 185, which incurred substantial damage during an out-field landing ìn Nov 1979 in Alaska. Let’s hope this Airbus will have a better future.

Rare visitor to Gilze Rijen, delivering a small plane which participated in the Dutch Air Force 2005 open days. A big crowd of spotters and local enthousiasts was present to welcome the visitors! Local trafiic had to be stopped as this public road is extremely close to the 9000ft active runway.

After landing, we cleared runway 27 very fast, making maximum use of the high speed exits. The crew did not even had time to retract the the triple slotted flaps and spoilers, allowing this great view into the internals of the 737 wing systems.

Note how deep the An-124 will kneedown for front loading. The second AN-124 is being loaded from the rear, and is also being fueled simultaneously.

Just took off from runway 24. Most of the area around this part of the airport is under construction, except for this relatively green area. This however will change in the future, since this field [including that lonely farm and the area around the greenhouses] will receive the new parallel runway 06R/24L.

AMS Schiphol airport is -12 ft MSL. Although over 16 years old, the F70/100 cockpit still looks very modern and clean. Nice watch!

1200 pixels wide, showing three of KLM’s B747-300s retired from active duty and enjoying some well deserved rest. Closest to the camera [to the right] is PH-BUV [23137/600], second is PH-BUM [21659/369], and third is PH-BUT [22380/539]. These aircraft are sitting on a recently commisioned ramp. Can anybody enlighten me on the name of this new ramp [next to J-ramp]?
