One of my all time favourite picture, taken during the Hyundai Air & Sea Show! McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle from the Louisiana ANG's 159th Fighter Wing "Bayou Militia" almost exceeding the speed of sound, producing visibile pressure waves.

My 1500th picture in Airliners! Of course it couldn’t be a better airplane than the majestic B747SP of Las Vegas Sands to celebrate such achievement! This was the fourth photographed during this unbelievable trip to the United States, after catching N7477S, P4-FSH and N747NA in the Arizona. Luckily neither the Airbus A340-500 (VP-BMS) nor the Boeing 767-300 (N804MS) were in town and parked in front of this magnificent piece of art, something that is very common at Las Vegas.

After visiting Victorville (KVCV), Edwards AFB (KEDW), Mojave (KMHV), Lancaster (KWJF) and Palmdale (KPMD), we drove for about two hours all the way down to San Bernardino to catch the Lockheed L-1011-100 Tristar N140SC, which flew earlier on that day for maintenance! This Boeing 727-200(F) of Uni World Air Cargo was a brilliant surprise, stored since Sep 2022.

Dornier Do-328 Jet? Nope! This is the Lockheed Martin X-55 Advanced Composite Cargo Aircraft (ACCA), also known as 'Carbon Comet', an experimental twinjet transport aircraft which was intended to demonstrate new air cargo-carrier capabilities using advanced composite materials. A fully functional Fairchild Dornier Do-328 Jet was butchered for the forthcoming X-55A ACCA, which is now preserved at the Joe Davies Heritage Airpark.

A very rare american aircraft that was designed and produced by Ralph V. Sawyer of Lancaster, California, in 1974, to explore ultra-low aspect ratio wing designs and in particular the stability, controllability and capability of the configuration. It first flew on 3 July 1975 and only this one was built.

NASA's NB-52B, also known as “Balls 8”, participated in some of the most significant projects in aerospace history, like the launch missions of the X-15 program. After almost 50 years of flying service, the aircraft held the distinction of being NASA's oldest aircraft, as well as being the oldest B-52 on flying status. She is now preserved at the north gate of Edwards AFB.

Used as a prototype of a four-engine short take-off and landing (STOL) tactical transport aircraft and only two were built. It was McDonnell Douglas' entrant into the USAF’s Advanced Medium STOL Transport (AMST) competition to replace the C-130 Hercules. In the end, neither the YC-15 nor the Boeing YC-14 was ordered into production, although the YC-15's design would be used to form the C-17 Globemaster III. Now is displayed at the “Century Circle”, located on the west gate of Edwards AFB.
