Airport development and major earthworks has resulted in this fire training fuselage being relocated back into the fire training compound, a move to the north-east of 120 metres. “Amy” and the faded registration G-AOVS are the correct makings applied to this starboard side, on the port side the name “Christian” and registration G-BRAC are evident. The markings of Redcoat’s sister ship G-BRAC were applied for film continuity purposes during the making of the 1980 BBC TV series 'Buccaneer'.

Departing Luton before sunrise for a winter lease of two months with LAB prior to a further lease with Aero Peru. G-BLKV returned to Britannia Airways at Luton in Aero Peru markings in the following May, so this early departure turned out to be my only opportunity to photograph her with LAB markings. This must be the slowest shutter speed I have ever used while photographing a moving aircraft with a manual lens. Canon A1, Canon FD 50mm, 1/30th Sec at f1.8, Kodak EC100 5009 (Ektachrome 100HC).

The first three BAe 146’s were painted in different versions of the British Aerospace house livery, orange, blue, and this seldom photographed brown version which was photographed from Jack Oldings Roundabout while flight testing at Hatfield. This brown livery was very short lived having first flown on 2nd April 1982, and was observed engineless in Hatfield’s paint shop during the open day on the 3rd July 1982. It would later re-emerge in Dan-Air livery and demonstrated at Farnborough in September 1982.
