Smoking rwy 28R. Unlimited visibility provides clear view to downtown Oakland as well as those multimillion dollar homes on Oakland hills.

This is something I've never seen before. Two UA 777's were instructed to position and hold on both 28L and 28R simultaneously. I was hoping they'd drag race down the runway :) But N219UA on 28L was cleared first and N206UA on 28R about 3 minutes later. I got an email from Keith, the ATC on duty at that time. He said that the basic rule at SFO is to never load both runways simultaneously. But both 777's were ready to go and there was no aircraft on final so he could load both runways.

Holding in position on 28L waiting for AF A340 F-GLZU to land on 28R. This was actually the second attempt for both airplanes! Previously SQ 777 was cleared for take off and she started rolling when ATC cancelled her clearance. AF 340 was previously on final for 28L and told to go around.

Nice surprise from KLM today! Not sure why they substituted this for the regular MD-11.

Rare 28L landing. Usually JAL Cargo lands on 28R because their parking spot is closer from the right runway.

The length difference between the -500 and -400 is quite dramatic in this photo. Air Nippon 735 is JA8195.
