A rare thing indeed, to see this bird outdoors. The Museum crew were washing the B52 so all displays were outside.

An RAN Wessex demonstrates a 'topside view' tight turn during the 1988 (Bi-Centennial) Canberra Air Pageant. This HT 723 Sqn aircraft was aquired by the RAN in 1963, and has the word 'Ambulance' on the nose. Photos of flying Wessex helicopters are rarely seen now. Nine of the 27 Wessex helicopters acquired by the RAN were lost in ditchings between 1964 and 1987. Fortunately, only one ditching involved loss of life. (An Aircrewman was killed when Wessex N7-215 (825) ditched off East Sale on 02Dec1983).
