Definately the best livery around - until 2008 when HAMBURG international's first A319 will be delivered in its new livery. Anyway, good paintjob, Markus!
Legally or not - this is the first German registered Boeing 777. The first "B" indicates that this must be a joke from the paintshop. I guess the real registry had to be taped over and they took this fun-reg instead of a blank cover. Great idea, however the real D-ABBA is an Air Berlin Boeing 737.
Only 7 days before, this aircraft was posted as new for Blue Wings with the new reg "D-AXEL". Now it's stored and has been registered back to D-AIMA. Is it already not taken up (ntu) and gone back to lessor? Photographed on an early morning winter's day.
Only a few days before the breakout of Ivory Coast's current war, we cruised around the backlands. ILS, NDB and VOR of this airport were surprisingly inop during our visit, so luckily we faced IFR conditions.
Coming in on a Birgenair flight. Further planes coming in within two hours that day: Air Gambia B707; Time Air Sweden DC 8-70; Birgenair DC 8-60; Sultan Air L-1011 Tristar in basic Sudan colors...!
This view is only possible out of the cockpit window and needs additionally some experience in camera acrobatics. This view is truly unforgettable for 707 lovers. Pay attention to the fixed blades in front of the spinning engine fans!
Taken moments after the well known shot of Photo ID: 297683 was taken! The bank angle has been adjusted and the aircraft gently slides to the centerline shortly befor tourchdown.
Here you can see one of the most significant differences between the common DC-3 Dakotas and the older DC-2s: The cabin is more narrow and only allows a 1-1 seating (instead of a 2-1 or 2-2 seating in a DC-3)
