Yup, check out that flare n look the other smoke-full nozzle, verymuch contrast. litle bit blur over the upper object n clear detailed for the lower object same does the contrast thing. It's very nice indeed.

Talk about a once-in-a-lifetime photo! The drama & action in the shot! Excellent reflexes, Martin, to get that shot from just seeing the 2nd A/C come into the viewfinder! The 2 A/C are framed perfectly, and the action is frozen. The smoke & flames & debris. Thank God both pilots got out. For the record, both pilots ejected safely and without injury to themselves or anyone on the ground.

It's great to see a shot like this on a forum where people actually ask if the guys were OK. 10/10 to all of you :)

Im now 25, but remember this day so very clearly. I was stood talking the cornish coast guard, when I turned to see this collision. I remember them both being OK, but only see one eject. Very mad moment in my life never to forget!

Those guys were unbelievably lucky it was the port wing and behind the canopy. A difference of a few hundredths of a second and/or a few feet the other way could have turned into a much much worse day for the demo team. Great reflexes Martin!

Man if you're gonna photograph something disasterous like this, that's the way to do it. Glad that nobody was hurt when they clipped. Nice catch, even if it is an unfortunate event.

A real split second timing shot. I was there and witnessed the whole thing. There was one minor injury to one of the pilots when his display colleague apparently apportioned blame for the incident by punching him right on the nose, after which both stood and had a cigarette together.

They're the most advanced aircraft in russia.one of the fighter jets wings clipping the front of another one.this has been shown on .t.v. many times and is impossible that it can happen.

I remember seeing one of the pilots get up off the ground after he landed, take off his helmet, pull out a packet of cigarettes, light up, offer one to the other pilot and they walked back to the crew room chatting and smoking. The very definition of cool!!

Lovely picture.
I like jets and i like explosions, and if nobody is harmed: it's fantastic.
I remember a video of one of the pilots (who broke his jaw ejecting) coming down with his chute, he lands, disconnects the chute, lights a cigarette, and walks past a stunned cameraman without twitching... coolest ever

Aside from the aerial decapitation, the fire/smoke resulting from the double flameout is impressive. I think this is the pilot who calmly lights a cigarette after his ejection. Bravo!

Man, the pilot of the decapitated MiG got soo lucky. A little less timing and he coulda had a premature prostate exam - by an aircraft wing no less. And thank God these were single seaters, cause where it hit is where the guy in back sits.

That's awesome timing. And this pic looks us the dangers of the top class aviation in incredible details. You can see how the plane becomes a cloud of shambles.
