HOT & HIGH!!! This plane is coming in higher and faster than normal. Note the left ailerons and flight spoilers in the full-up position as the pilot attempt to level-off quickly.

I had the pleasure (i think ) of making this approach at night before Kai Tak closed. As I was looking out the window I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
This is a very good shot of what went on.

It is a clear picture of an amazing aircraft of a once wonderful airline.

One of the best airlines ever! This airline really knew what service was all about right from First-Class to Economy to ground personnel.

This pic embodies the excitement of landing at Kai Tak. It was never routine always some variable to make each landing something to remember. Les Temps Perdu.

Another awe inspiring photo from Kak Tai. The plane is perfectly framed with the buildings in the background. Well done.

The left flight spoilers are actually spoilerons and they're in the up position because they are designed to assist the aircraft in turns.

Actually, looking at the position of the rudder, it seems they are leveling out the turn. look at the starboard aileron in down position as well...keep in mind this is an aggressive, precise turn.

You know, frankly I hardly mind about what exactly is going on with the spoilers and ailerons and other control surfaces more than the obvious: what an epic awesome photo! Some Hong Kong governor should for the next elections include reopening of Kai Tak in his program, I bet you he's gonna make millions in donations!
